Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day is an official federal holiday in the United States, observed on the third Monday of January. It serves as a tribute to the influential civil rights leader, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and his enduring impact on society. This holiday provides an opportunity to honor and commemorate Dr. King’s significant contributions to the advancement of civil rights, equality, and nonviolent activism.
On Monday, January 19, 2026, the Greenville community had an opportunity to experience The Dr. E.E. McClaren Institute for Health Unity and Community Resource Day, the Unity Career and College and “The Dream” A living exhibit and tribute to MLK. “The Dream” A living exhibit and tribute to MLK creates a momentous occasion where attendees will have the opportunity to visually embrace the values that Dr. King stood.
For those who couldn’t attend this year’s events, we invite you to explore our website to view photos and catch up on the latest event news. The Unity weekend is a true embodiment of togetherness and celebration, and we hope you can join us in the festivities in 2027. As we look to dream bigger and bolder for the City of Greenville, but more importantly for the youth and communities that we serve.
